Wis. billionaire pleads not guilty to sex assault

RACINE, Wis. (AP) — A billionaire executive whose family has run SC Johnson for five generations has entered a not guilty plea in a Racine court to charges that he repeatedly sexually assaulted a girl he knew.

Until recently, 55-year-old Curt Johnson ran Diversey, one of the Johnson family companies. He resigned from his job as chairman about a month before the criminal case against him was filed.

The Journal Times of Racine reports Johnson entered his not guilty plea Wednesday.

Johnson was charged March 23 for allegedly abusing the girl over several years. She’s now 15 but was between sixth and seventh grade when it allegedly happened.

Johnson paid $500,000 to bail out of jail while the case is prosecuted.
