Nursing assistant convicted of patient abuse

By: Associated Press//March 29, 2011

LANCASTER, Wis. (AP) — A nursing assistant has been convicted of abusing a patient at a Grant County care center and sentenced to five days in jail.

Twenty-two-year-old Tiffany Krantz entered a no contest plea Monday to misdemeanor abuse and neglect of a patient or resident. Krantz was accused of pulling the hair of an Alzheimer’s patient at Lancaster Care Center and handling her roughly.

In addition to the jail time, a Grant County judge placed Krantz on one year probation. She must also write a letter of apology to the patient’s husband.
