ATLANTA (AP) — Authorities in Fulton County are awaiting word on whether a 19-year-old charged with beating his 3-year-old daughter has waived extradition from Wisconsin.

According to Fulton County authorities, Donald Franklin Jr. was arrested in October after paramedics responded to a 911 call. He faces charges that include attempted murder, cruelty to children and aggravated battery.

Fulton County Police Detective Melissa Parker said the girl had a swollen forehead and scratch marks.

Franklin was released on $10,000 bond. U.S. Marshals in Milwaukee say Franklin was arrested there on Thursday.

Fulton County sheriff’s office spokeswoman Tracy Flanagan said if Franklin fights extradition, the county may seek a governor’s warrant to return him to Georgia.
