MENOMONIE, Wis. (AP) — An October trial is scheduled for one of the two former University of Wisconsin-Stout hockey players accused in a fatal attack on a fellow student.
A Dunn County trial for 21-year-old Jedidiah McGlasson is scheduled to begin Oct. 3. McGlasson, of Menomonie, and 23-year-old Jared Britton, of St. Cloud, Minn., are facing felony murder charges in the death of 22-year-old Bradley Simon last September.
Simon died from head injuries after authorities say he was shoved off the bike and into a wall in downtown Menomonie. According to police, the altercation followed a dispute in a bar over a sweatshirt Britton was wearing.
Britton had played hockey for the UW-Stout and McGlasson was a recruit. Both were kicked off the team.
