ImageSteven C. McGaver didn’t want to follow his father in the law enforcement profession, or take his grandfather’s advice to attend the United States Naval Academy.

He wanted to be a lawyer. Four years into his legal career, McGaver has made his mark.

As the new President of the Milwaukee Young Lawyers Association, he intends to promote the efficient use of technology in practice and involvement.

“I think it is imperative young lawyers lead the way on the technology front, because who else is going to do it?” he said.

The Gimbel Reilly Guerin & Brown LLP attorney certainly practices what he preaches. He is an active member of seven different organizations, including the Wisconsin Defense Counsel (WDC), the Milwaukee Bar Association (MBA) and the State Bar of Wisconsin’s Young Lawyers Division (YLD).

“It is alphabet soup,” McGaver joked of his commitments. “You really need to have a good calendaring system and stick to it.”
