Jeremy R. McKenzie loves sports. He enjoys many professional sports and has a strong interest in playing lesser-known niche sports, such as the Irish game of hurling and the less obscure sport of curling. His favorite U.S. Supreme Court decision involves the antitrust exemption for Major League Baseball.

So it comes as no surprise that he was drawn to Marquette University by its sports law program. He says that tying his passion for sports to the study of contracts and other legal elements made them much more interesting.

Although he’s not practicing sports law, McKenzie has brought the legal skills that he learned to Davis & Kuelthau SC where he handles litigation and environmental law for commercial and municipal clients. In one case, he helped argue that the statutory caps on damage claims against governmental entities applied to a claim against the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District. A multi-million dollar verdict was reduced to $100,000.
