The National Tribal Justice Resource Center is a very comprehensive website dedicated to Native American and Alaska Native tribal court information. The site is maintained by the National American Indian Court Judges Association. The main page highlights news and other noteworthy information. From this page, you will also find an internal search engine and a link to FAQ’s.

However, the site also acts as a portal, offering links to the information outlined. The homepage has main tabs for several areas including tribal courts, tribal law, Federal/State law, and legal issues. Under each tab are main categories to assist in navigating the site. As an example, under the heading “Federal/State Law,” the researcher finds topics ranging from ICWA, pending legislation, treaties, Supreme Court decisions, and Sovereignty Protection. Selecting a topic then produces a summary page and links to articles, Supreme Court cases, organizations, and publications available for purchase.

The Tribal Justice Resource Center is a very extensive site and a great resource if conducting this type of research. Another resource to check out is the Oklahoma City University School of Law’s American Indian Legal Research on the Web.
