Quarles & Brady LLP announced that Patricia M. Hutter, a partner in the firm’s Corporate Services Practice Group, has been named Executive Leader of the United Performing Arts Fund (UPAF) Next Generation Council.

Hutter focuses her practice on mergers and acquisitions, private equity, venture capital and other business transactions and general corporate matters. She earned her law degree from the University Illinois College of Law. Attorney Margery M. Tibbetts has joined the Janesville law office of Murphy Desmond S.C. in the firm’s Litigation and Labor & Employment practice groups. She earned her law degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School. Stafford Rosenbaum LLP announced that Jon Evenson was recently named a partner with the firm. Evenson graduated from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 2001. Evenson’s practice focuses on commercial and civil litigation.

The Schroeder Group, S.C., Attorneys at Law has earned the Albert F. Beck Award from United Way in Waukesha County. The Albert F. Beck Award is awarded in recognition of providing the largest gift among participating law firms in the areas of less than 10 employees, 10-30 employees and more than 30 employees. The Schroeder Group has been recognized in the 10-30 employee group. National labor and employment law firm, Constangy, Brooks & Smith, LLP, announced the promotion of four Constangy attorneys to Equity Partner and one Constangy associate to Partner. James N. Nolan, Birmingham, Ala.; Charles W. Pautsch, Chicago, Ill. and Milwaukee; Phillip Russell, Tampa, Fla.; and Steve Warren, Greenville, S.C.

Constangy associate David Steffen of Constangy’s Tampa, Fla., office was also promoted to Partner, effective Jan. 1, 2009. After 36 years of private practice in Eau Claire, Attorney Steve Schrage relocated his practice to Ruder Ware in preparation for his retirement. Most recently Schrage was a partner at the law firm of Schrage & Kaiser. Over the course of his legal career, Schrage concentrated his practice on estate and business planning, probate and trust administration.

Schrage will work with Ruder Ware Attorney Linda Danielson, and her team of estate planning attorneys, through most of 2009 to familiarize them with his clients, procedures, and expectations. Danielson, who has practiced law in Eau Claire for twenty years, concentrates her practice on tax and estate planning and business law. Nelson, Irvings & Waeffler, S.C. announced that Carol J. Wessels has become a shareholder in the firm. She will continue to concentrate in issues of concern to the elderly and disabled individuals and their families, including litigation in contested matters. Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen announced the appointment of Steven P. Means as the Wisconsin Department of Justice’s representative to the State Claims Board. Means currently serves as the Deputy Administrator of the Division of Legal Services. Means graduated from the University of Iowa College of Law.
