Ann M. Peacock comes to the Wisconsin Department of Justice from the law firm of Foley & Lardner, where she has practiced civil law since graduating from University of Wisconsin Law School in 2003. Her prior experience includes having worked as a volunteer attorney for the Wisconsin Innocence Project, having clerked for the U.S. DOJ and interned for the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Wisconisn. She is a former Managing Editor of the Wisconsin Law Review. The law firm of Godfrey & Kahn announced the election of Lecia D. Johnson, Jennifer A. Hannon, Jonathan R. Ingrisano, and Gene T. Schaeffer as shareholders, effective Jan. 1, 2009.

Johnson is a member of the Tax and Employee Benefits Group in the Milwaukee office and has been with the firm since 2000.

Hannon joined Godfrey & Kahn in 2000 and is a member of the Estate Planning Group who works out of the firm’s Madison office.

Ingrisano works with the Litigation Group out of both the Milwaukee and Waukesha offices and has been with the firm since 2001.

Schaeffer, who joined the firm in 2000, is a member of the Labor and Employment Group and is located in the Madison office. Boyle Fredrickson has announced a new president and board of directors. Serving as president is Peter C. Stomma, a firm partner since 2001. He succeeds Andrew S. McConnell, who continues his full-time practice at Boyle Fredrickson with an emphasis in intellectual property prosecution, counseling and pre-litigation dispute resolution.

Serving additional terms on the Milwaukee-based firm’s board are Vice President Michael J. Gratz and Secretary Timothy E. Newholm. They are joined by the firm’s newest addition to the board, Keith M. Baxter, who also succeeds Stomma as the firm’s treasurer.

Stomma is a graduate of Drake University School of Law. His focus is on patent, trademark and copyright law.

Gratz, a graduate of the University of Wisconsin School of Law, helped found the firm in 1999.

Newholm, who also co-founded the firm, is a graduate of George Mason University School of Law. Newholm provides expertise in the practice areas of patent prosecution, client counseling and patent litigation.

Baxter, who specializes in patent protection and counsel, the strategic use of patents and prelitigation management of patent disputes, graduated with honors from Georgetown Law. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin School of Law, McConnell joined the firm as a partner in 2001 and served as its president from 2007-08. John Thomure, Jr., a partner at Michael Best & Friedrich LLP was named Chairman of the Board of Charles Allis and Villa Terrace Art Museums (CAVT). The CAVT is the governing board of the museums and part of the War Memorial Corporation, of which Thomure also is a Trustee.

Thomure focuses his practice on securities litigation, white collar criminal defense and trade secrets litigation. DeWitt Ross & Stevens, S.C., announced that Brookfield attorney Jascha Beck Walter has become a partner in the firm.

Walter practices law in the areas of business, information technology, and intellectual property.

Walter received his law degree from Marquette University.

The firm also announce the addition of Brian R. Smigelski to the Litigation, Construction and Labor and Employment Relations groups. Smigelski joins the firm as a partner in the Brookfield office.

Smigelski focuses his practice on the area of commercial litigation in state and federal trial and appellate courts, as well as in arbitration proceedings. He received his J.D. from Marquette University Law School.

John J. Schulze Jr., Marquette 2004, has authored On the Eve of the Federal Power Act Interlocking Directorate Regulations’ Diamond Jubilee, Are We Left with Cherries or the Pits, 29 Energy Law Journal 667 (2008). Schulze is a corporate attorney with American Transmission Company, Pewaukee. The law firm of Whyte Hirschboeck Dudek announced the addition of Daniel Miske to its Milwaukee office. Miske concentrates his practice in the areas of condominium law, business law, businesses, condominium associations, insurance companies and individual matters including contract disputes, declaration and bylaw issues, Fair Debt Practices Act, unfair trade practices and insurance defense matters. Miske is a graduate of the DePaul University School of Law. The law firm of Guelzow & Winston Ltd. welcomes attorney Scott Kissinger to the firm as an associate specializing in estate planning. Kissinger earned his J.D. from Mitchell College of Law in 2005. Rice & Gotzmer has joined with Sheboygan estate planning and probate attorney Eldon L. Bohrofen to form Rice, Gotzmer & Bohrofen, in Sheboygan. The law firm of Wessels Sherman has added Alan E. Seneczko as a partner. The firm is officially changing its name to Wessels Sherman Bailey Joerg Liszka Laverty Risch Seneczko P.C. The firm will move from downtown Milwaukee to Oconomowoc. Habush Habush & Rottier, S.C. has announced the opening of their new West Bend office at 2125 W. Washington St., West Bend 53095.
