U.S. Supreme Court accepts 10 cases

The U.S. Supreme Court today granted certiorari in ten new cases. Seven are criminal, one involves environmental law, one Indian law, and one is unique to Hawaii. A particularly interesting question is presented in one of the criminal cases: whether a defendant is denied a speedy trial, where the delay is not caused by the court or the prosecution, but by his own public defender.
