Earlier this week I was in Washington D.C. attending WebSearch University, a conference for information professionals. I always enjoy attending these types of conferences because I learn about new and useful websites. One session I attended was on international search. Marydee Ojala of Online Magazine was the presenter. She did an excellent job and introduced us to several interesting websites.

One such site was “Doing Business.” This site is maintained the World Bank. It “provides objective measures of business regulations and their enforcement across 181 economies and selected cities at the sub-national and regional level.” There is a wealth of information available ranging from economy rankings, to an online collection of business laws and regulations, to data regarding starting a business. The site also includes some interesting research papers under their “Methodology and Research” tab.
