Stellpflug, Janssen, Hammer, Kirschling and Bartels, S.C., announced a new, simplified name: Stellpflug Law S.C. The name change is driven by Stellpflug Law’s long-term marketing strategy and concurrently addresses the recent appointment of former shareholder Marc Hammer as Brown County Circuit Court Judge.

von Briesen & Roper, s.c., announced the promotion of attorneys Michelle Bergholz Frazier and Susan Minahan Ruppelt to shareholder.

Frazier is a member of the Health Care Practice Group. Frazier received a J.D. in 1998 from the University of Minnesota.

Ruppelt focuses her practice in the areas of trust and estate planning, estate and trust administration, charitable giving, retirement planning, and estate, gift and generation skipping tax. Ruppelt received a J.D. in 1995 from Marquette University.

Bowler attorney Howard Bichler, General Counsel of the Stockbridge-Munsee Band of Mohican Indians, has begun one year of service as chairperson of the State Bar of Wisconsin’s Board of Governors. Bichler graduated from Marquette Law School in 1976.

Boyle Fredrickson, the largest intellectual property law firm in Wisconsin, welcomed Eric Schlevensky as the firm’s newest attorney. Schlevensky has 11 years of experience as a practicing engineer with specific expertise in product development. Schlevensky graduated from Marquette University Law School.

The law firm of Quarles & Brady LLP announced that C. Ann Martin has joined the firm as an associate on the Labor & Employment team.

Before joining the firm, Martin worked as an associate for Lindner & Marsack, S.C.

She earned a law degree from the University of Iowa.

The firm also announced that Ave M. Bie, partner with the firm’s Madison office, has been appointed to Wisconsin’s Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen’s Crime Victims Council. The council, formed in 1981, serves as an advisory committee to the attorney general.

Bie focuses her practice at the firm’s six offices nationwide in the areas of public utilities and government relations practice groups. She earned a law degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School.

The firm also announced that John W. Daniels Jr., chairman of the firm, will be honored by the National Bar Association, the oldest and largest national association of predominately African-American lawyers and judges in the United States. Daniels is being honored for his leadership roles in law and the community, both of which he has been actively involved in over the past few decades.

Michael Best & Friedrich LLP welcomes Daniel Morse, a partner in the Wealth Planning Services Group and Kirk Pelikan, an associate in the Employee Benefits Practice Group.

Morse concentrates his practice in the areas of estate planning, general corporate law, and tax and succession planning for privately-owned businesses and their owners. Morse received his J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.

Pelikan represents and advises clients regarding employee benefits issues including merger of 401(k) plans, ERISA withdrawal liability, COBRA, HIPAA compliance, and family and medical leave. Pelikan received a J.D. from Marquette University Law School.

Whyte Hirschboeck Dudek S.C., announced that attorney Kelly M. Dodd has joined its Family Law practice in Milwaukee. Also joining the Family Law practice is paralegal Elizabeth M. Perry. Both previously worked together at another law firm.

Dodd will represent clients in all aspects of divorce, paternity, and post-judgment matters, including child custody and placement, child support, property division and maintenance.

Dodd earned her J.D. at Marquette University Law School.

Attorney Bruce J. Lindl was elected to the Eastern District of Wisconsin Bar Association Board of Directors. Lindl will serve a three-year term with the opportunity to serve an additional three-year term.

Lindl is currently Vice President and General Counsel at Regal Ware, Inc., located in Kewaskum.

The Madison law firm, Axley Brynelson, LLP, announced the recent hire of Timothy M. Barber, Sara K. Beachy, Peter J. Conrad, and Laura L. Hancock, as well as Michael J. Modl and Timothy D. Edwards’ newly elected positions.

Barber is an associate and member of the Litigation Practice Group. Barber received his law degree from Marquette Law School in 2003.

Beachy is a recent graduate of the University of Wisconsin Law School. She was a law clerk for the firm in 2007, and is now a member of the Litigation Practice Group.

Conrad was hired as an associate at Axley Brynelson after graduation from the University of Wisconsin Law School in May. Conrad is a member of the Construction & Transportation Focus Group and also clerked for the firm previous to earning is J.D.

Hancock has been hired as a legal assistant at Axley Brynelson.

Modl has been elected as chairman of the firm’s Litigation Practice Group.

Edwards, a partner, was named chairman of the Wisconsin Lawyer’s Assistance Program (WisLAP), which provides confidential assistance to Wisconsin attorneys who suffer from addiction and mental health issues. He will serve as chairman for two years.
