FAA site tracks flight delays

During the recent winter storm I dreamed of being in Hawaii or the Bahamas. However, instead of scheduling flights, I shoveled a lot of snow. Throughout the week, I did keep my eye on several airports since I have family members traveling throughout the United States.

One site I use to accomplish this task is the FAA’s “Flight Delay Information” page. The webpage outlines general airport conditions, rather than specific flight information. An easy to read map utilizes color codes to alert you of delays and closures. You can refine your search by selecting a general region or specific airport. Airport details include delays by destination and departure/arrival delays. Since currency is obviously important, the time of the last update is also included. (I believe it refreshes itself about every 5 minutes).

An example of the language found when selecting an individual airport would be:

Due to WEATHER / LOW VISIBILITY, departure traffic destined to General Edward Lawrence Logan International Airport, Boston, MA (BOS) is currently experiencing delays averaging 39 minutes.
