In an earlier post, I listed tips to improve search results (read here). One suggestion was to “start with the right engine.” We often run our search in board spectrum engines such as Google when a specialized search engine or portal may be a better answer.

One such legal portal is ALSO! (American Law Source Online). ALSO! defines themselves as “providing a comprehensive, uniform, and useful compilation of links to freely accessible on-line sources of law for the United States and Canada.” This site is packed with valuable resources. My favorite is the Uniform Laws and Model Acts page. The various uniform laws are listed and, when available, links to the NCCUSL text, summary, and legislative activity. The greatest feature is the inclusion of the States that have enacted the Uniform law. And, yep, either a link to or listing to the appropriate State statute section.
