A Canadian Pacific Railway attorney tried Tuesday to persuade the state Claims Board to hand the railroad more than half a million dollars for helping develop a high-speed rail plan before Gov. Scott Walker killed the project.
Talgo’s $66 million claim rejected (UPDATE)
Arguing the dispute should be settled in court, Wisconsin officials on Monday rejected a $66 million claim made by Spanish train maker Talgo Inc.
State Claims Board to take up Talgo case (UPDATE)
State officials will take up a claim that the U.S.-subsidiary of a Spanish train maker has filed in a dispute stemming from Gov. Scott Walker’s refusal of federal money for the construction of a high-speed rail line between Milwaukee and Madison.
Talgo seeks nearly $66M for canceled deal
Train-maker Talgo Inc. filed a nearly $66 million claim against Wisconsin on Thursday, saying the money is owed after Gov. Scott Walker acted in bad faith in deciding to abandon a high-speed rail line connecting Milwaukee and Madison.
HIGH-SPEED FAIL
If the federally financed high-speed rail project in Wisconsin dies, so too will the expected increase in work for many attorneys.
