‘Lemon Law King’ can’t claim attorney’s fees
A Milwaukee attorney known as the "Lemon Law King" has no claim to collect attorney's fees from a settlement his client reached without his involvement, the Wisconsin Supreme Court ruled Tuesday.
‘Lemon Law King’ asks judge to block law
Vince Megna, the self-described "Lemon Law King," has filed a writ of mandamus asking a Dane County judge to block a law because of what he sees as an error-prone form that litigants are required to fill out to make a claim.
Attorney approval needed for fee-shifting settlement
Though the Wisconsin civil court system generally promotes settlement and compromise at most every phase of litigation, it can be against public policy for clients to settle their cases without attorney approval.
