MONTELLO, Wis. (AP) — A former Marquette County deputy sheriff has been placed on three years probation for stealing drugs from a locked evidence room.
As a condition of probation, Daniel Card will have to serve six months in the county jail.
According to a criminal complaint filed by special prosecutors from the state Department of Justice, Card took 59 Oxycodone tablets from the sheriff’s department’s evidence room in May 2007. Card was found guilty of possessing the drug following a jury trial in 2009.
He pleaded no contest to theft and entering the locked room during a hearing last January.
