Sexually Violent Persons
Self-representation

Lee Alexander Brown appeals from a judgment and order committing Brown to the custody of the Department of Health Services, pursuant to Wis. Stat. § 980.06 (2007-08), until such time as he is no longer a sexually violent person. Brown claims that the trial court erred when it permitted him to represent himself, and he asks us to remand this case back to the trial court for retrial. Because the trial court properly determined that Brown knowingly, intelligently, and voluntarily waived his right to counsel and that Brown was competent to represent himself, we affirm. Not recommended for publication in the official reports.
