Foley & Lardner may call its litigation department the “Business Litigation & Dispute Resolution” practice. But although Kate Spitz only joined the firm in 2007, she would likely have fit in well in the days before “alternative dispute resolution” entered the lexicon.

Intensely competitive, her Facebook motto says it all: “All I do is win.”

Spitz has worked on a variety of matters for the firm, including asbestos litigation, product liability actions, shareholder derivative actions, environmental actions, and litigation involving the commerce clause. She is also a member of the firm’s recently formed specialty practice for litigation under the Racketeering Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act.

Spitz also volunteers regularly at the Milwaukee County Justice Center.

In addition, she co-authors the annual supplement for the state bar publication, “Wisconsin Civil Procedure Before Trial.”

In her spare time, Spitz serves on the leadership committee for the Conservative Young Professionals of Milwaukee, plays golf and piano, and attends Notre Dame football games whenever possible.
