Searchme.com
So many search engines, so little time. I realize I just posted on Sputtr last week, but I couldn’t pass up sharing information on another interesting search engine. Mary Ellen Bates of Bates Information Services has a terrific review of Searchme.com. If you are a visual person, you might really enjoy this engine. Others, however, might find the navigation a bit hard to get used to.
I put in the search “Tour de France.” Searchme provides categories to help narrow your search. The categories supplied by the engine for my “Tour” search included cycling, news, movies, and history. Choosing the “cycling” category, the results included Wikipedia, the official tour page and Velo News. All these were quite relevant. Selecting the “news” category however, resulted in some current news stories, but mostly older stories.
