The Association for Women Lawyers is seeking applicants for scholarships.

AWL is a non-profit bar association that promotes interests of women lawyers, women in general and the legal profession. Its foundation awards scholarships each year to law students enrolled Marquette University Law School and the University of Wisconsin. A portion of the proceeds from AWL’s Annual Women Judges Night, which honors the state’s judges, benefit the foundation’s scholarship program.

The foundation offers two scholarships: the Association for Women Lawyers Foundation Scholarship and the Virginia A. Pomeroy Scholarship, which honors the former deputy state public defender who began AWL’s scholarship program.

To apply, students must submit a resume, law school transcript and cover letter by June 15 to the AWL Foundation Scholarship Committee at 322 N. 92nd St., Milwaukee, or to [email protected]. Electronic applications are encouraged.

For more information, visit AWL’s website.
