MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A suspended University of Wisconsin-Madison student accused of sexually assaulting and harassing nearly a dozen women is set to enter pleas in court.
Twenty-year-old Alec Cook faces a total of 21 charges that include strangulation, sexual assault, stalking and false imprisonment involving 10 women dating back to March 2015.
His attorneys have argued some of the alleged assaults didn’t happen, the other sexual encounters were consensual and the harassment and stalking charges are overblown.
Cook is due to appear in Dane County Circuit Court on Friday afternoon for an arraignment, the step in the legal process where a defendant enters pleas.
