APPLETON, Wis. (AP) — An Appleton woman has been sentenced to life in prison for fatally stabbing her husband.
Thirty-nine-year-old Mastella Jackson was convicted in November of fatally stabbing Derrick Whitlow at a Grand Chute motel in 2012.
WLUK-TV reports that during sentencing in Outagamie County Circuit Court on Thursday, the victim’s brother tried to lunge at Jackson while giving his impact statement and was restrained by deputies, court officials and others.
Jackson will be eligible for release on extended supervision in 30 years.
