MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Gov. Scott Walker is questioning the need for more county district attorneys if prosecutors continue to pursue a secret investigation into his recall campaign after the U.S. Supreme Court rules on the case.

The Wisconsin State Journal reports that Walker connected the need for more district attorneys with the John Doe investigation the U.S. Supreme Court is weighing whether to accept.

Walker says, “most people in this state would think there’s not a lack of work to be done in Milwaukee.” Walker says he often hears of the need for more prosecutors in Milwaukee and elsewhere.

He says, “I think a lot of people wonder, if they continue to spend time after the U.S. Supreme Court were to rule on this, if that’s really necessary.”
