Quarles’ Perhach earns Philanthropic 5 award

Quarles & Brady Milwaukee office managing partner, Katie Maloney Perhach, has received a 2016 Philanthropic 5 award from the United Way of Greater Milwaukee & Waukesha County.

The Philanthropic 5 Award, created by United Way’s Emerging Leaders Council, recognizes five community leaders in their 20s, 30s and 40s who have made extraordinary commitments of leadership, volunteerism, mentoring, and philanthropy to Greater Milwaukee and Waukesha’s nonprofit community.

Perhach and the other four leaders were honored at an event on Aug. 18.

The Philanthropic 5 award-winners also receive $500.00 to invest in the cause of their choice. Perhach has chosen as her recipient the Harry & Rose Samson Family Jewish Community Center of Milwaukee Inc., and its Shiluv program, for its commitment to inclusive summer camp experiences for children with developmental disabilities and special needs.

• Quarles’ Kevin Long has been inducted as a member of the Greater Milwaukee Committee.

The Greater Milwaukee Committee is made up of 200 CEOs or CEO-level executives who work together to make Milwaukee the best place to live, learn, work and play.

Long is the national chair of the firm’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution Practice Group, where he leads more than 100 litigators who represent businesses in the nine communities across the nation where Quarles has offices.

Reinhart attorneys make best lawyers list

Milwaukee-based Reinhart Boerner Van Deuren had 98 attorneys recently selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America 2017.

Within Reinhart’s group of 98 selected attorneys, nine were named Lawyer of the Year. They are:

Scott Hansen — antitrust Lawyer of the Year in Milwaukee;

John Herbers — litigation-trusts and estates Lawyer of the Year in Milwaukee;

Michael Jankowski — bankruptcy and creditor debtor rights/insolvency and reorganization law Lawyer of the Year in Milwaukee;

Melanie Lee — construction law Lawyer of the Year in Madison;

Gregory Monday — business organizations (including LLCs and partnerships) Lawyer of the Year in Madison;

John Reichert — financial services regulation law Lawyer of the Year in Milwaukee;

Robert Sholl — litigation-labor and employment Lawyer of the Year in Milwaukee;

Deborah Tomczyk — land use and zoning law Lawyer of the Year in Milwaukee;

Nathan Wautier — land use and zoning law Lawyer of the Year in Madison.

• Reinhart has also added Tammi Tram Huynh to the firm’s Health Care Practice.

Prior to joining Reinhart, Huynh was a judicial law clerk to JoAnne Kloppenburg at the Wisconsin Court of Appeals. She was also an intern with the U.S. Attorneys’ Office for the Northern District of Illinois and a judicial extern to Edmond Chang at the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.

Nathan Wautier

• Reinhart shareholder Nathan Wautier has been accepted as an American College of Mortgage Attorneys Fellow.

Wautier serves the business and legal needs of a broad range of individual, corporate, and institutional clients. He primarily advises real estate developers, business owners, operators, borrowers, and lenders on development projects and related financings.

According to a news release from Reinhart, the firm is the only in Wisconsin to have three ACMA fellows: Wautier, shareholder John Murphy, and of counsel Harvey Temkin.

Onosko joins O’Neil in the Corporate Practice Group

Marquette University Law School graduate Ryan Onosko has joined the Milwaukee law firm O’Neil, Cannon, Hollman, DeJong, & Laing in the Corporate Practice Group.

His prior experience includes a variety of law practices, including tax, business, estate planning, and construction law.

Godfrey & Kahn’s McLaughlin named to leadership council

Godfrey & Kahn shareholder Christine Liu McLaughlin has been named to the United Way’s National Women’s Leadership Council.

The NWLC includes 60,000 women from across the world who come together to promote positive change in the communities in which they live and work, notably in the areas of education, income and health.

McLaughlin is a shareholder and chair of the Labor and Employment Law Practice Group in Godfrey & Kahn’s Milwaukee office.
