Walker appoints Janesville attorney to Rock County bench

Gov. Scott Walker has appointed a Janesville attorney to a vacancy on the Rock County Circuit Court bench.

John Wood, managing partner at Nowlan & Mouat in Janesville, will replace Judge Richard Werner, who is retiring, according to a news release.

Wood has worked at Nowlan & Mouat for 20 years, practicing family law, estate planning, real estate, business law, and civil litigation. Before working at Nowlan & Mouat, he was a solo practitioner and worked on family, business, real estate, and criminal cases.

Wood has been licensed to practice law in Wisconsin since 1996. He earned his law degree from Hamline University School of Law in St. Paul, Minn.
