A public hearing is set for the reinstatement of a former Grafton attorney whose license was suspended for two years over securities fraud.

The Wisconsin Supreme Court suspended Richard Kranitz’s license in 2014, prohibiting him from practicing law for two years. The discipline stemmed from Kranitz’s 2013 federal felony conviction for conspiracy to commit securities fraud based on his actions as director and attorney for China Wi-Max Communications Inc.

Kranitz filed a petition for reinstatement March 21.

The public hearing on his petition is set for 9 a.m. July 25 in Room 240 at the Ozaukee County Justice Center, 1201 S. Spring St., Port Washington.

Anyone interested may appear at the hearing and speak in support or opposition of Kranitz’s reinstatement.
