MILWAUKEE — A Milwaukee County judge has dismissed prospective jurors in a civil case brought by two police officers against a gun shop.

Judge John DiMotto told jurors that their dismissal Wednesday was due to issues beyond his control, but did not explain further. Questioning of a pool of 100 jurors began Monday. The potential jurors were let go just as a final jury was about to be seated in the case brought by Officer Jose Lopez and former Officer Alejandro Arce against Badger Guns and its owners.

They allege the store negligently sold the gun used to shoot them while they were on duty in 2007. Two other Milwaukee officers settled a similar case against Badger Guns last October for $1 million.

The jury selection process in the latest case is scheduled to start again Monday.
