MILWAUKEE (AP) — A Milwaukee County man accused of killing his 68-year-old mother has been found not competent to proceed with trial.

Forty-year-old Robert Rozewicz of Hales Corners is charged with first-degree intentional homicide in the death of Julie Rozewicz, who had been missing before her body was found in March at a Musekgo landfill. The Journal Sentinel reports that on Monday Rozewicz was found not competent to proceed with trial.

A judge ordered Rozewicz into the Wisconsin Department of Health Services’ care for treatment, and Rozewicz will undergo examination periodically to determine if he is competent.

The ruling came after the opinion of the Wisconsin Forensic Unit’s director, who determined that Rozewicz wasn’t able to understand charges and help in his defense.

Rozewicz hasn’t entered a plea in the case.
