WAUKESHA, Wis. (AP) — A Milwaukee lawyer got a $5,000 fine for groping two female employees at his country club.

Christopher Hale pleaded no contest to the misdemeanor charges. In court Friday, the 59-year-old acknowledged he committed “an indecent act of sexual gratification” with each victim.

Waukesha County Judge Michael Maxwell lashed out at the River Club in Mequon for not encouraging a 20-year old beer cart attendant, who told her superiors that Hale had groped her on the golf course, to immediately contact police. He said club officials’ actions were “equally deplorable” to Hale’s.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports that when she told club officials, they offered to fine him $500 and pay her that amount. That offer was crafted by Hale. The second victim came forward after Hale’s arrest in August.
