OCONOMOWOC, Wis. (AP) — A woman has been bound over for trial on charges she fatally shot her husband in Oconomowoc last May.
Fifty-two-year-old Amy Van Wagner is charged with first-degree intentional homicide and hiding a corpse, both felonies. Her husband, 50-year-old Stan Van Wagner, was found fatally shot in the basement of their home.
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports a detective testified Friday that in the days before her husband was shot, Amy Van Wagner had begged friends not to tell him about the money they had loaned her to consult a divorce attorney.
Court Commissioner Thomas Pieper found probable cause that Van Wagner killed her husband and bound her over for trial. She remains jailed on $100,000 cash bond.
Defense attorney John Schiro argued that the complaint should be dismissed.
