Stafford Rosenbaum has named James Statz as the firm’s Business Law Team Leader. Previously, the group was led by Denasha Scott.

Statz’s practice includes experience handling complex real estate transactions.

Kuhn named shareholder at newly named Hynes & Kuhn

Martin Kuhn has been named a shareholder at Jeffrey S. Hynes & Associates, and the firm has changed its name to Hynes & Kuhn S.C.

Kuhn will continue to focus on all aspects of labor and employment law – representing employees, managers, executives, and small businesses.

Weiss Berzowski LLP has announced that attorneys Dan McDermott, Aaron Foley and Jeffrey Wilson, former partners of the law firm McDermott, Foley & Wilson in Shorewood, have joined Weiss Berzowski.

McDermott has joined Weiss Berzowski’s Estate Planning and Business teams, along with Aaron Foley, who will also be a part of the firm’s Real Estate Team. Wilson has joined the firm’s litigation team.

All three are based at the firm’s downtown Milwaukee office.

New lease anchors law firm in Milwaukee through 2023

With the recent signing of a new lease, the management-side labor and employment law firm of Lindner & Marsack will remain in its downtown Milwaukee location through at least 2023.

The firm has been at 411 E. Wisconsin Ave. since 1989, and has occupied its current space on the 18th floor since 2003.

DeWitt adds Bezouska to Madison office

DeWitt Ross & Stevens, and its affiliate DeWitt Mackall Crounse & Moore, have announced the addition of associate Andrew Bezouska to its Employee Benefits, Labor and Employment, Tax and Corporate Practice groups. He will be based in the firm’s Madison office.

9 lawyers join von Briesen

Von Briesen & Roper recently added nine lawyers to its practice and now has 129 lawyers in Wisconsin.

Six of the lawyers are joining the firm as shareholders. They are Megan Heinzelman, Josh Kopp, Stephen Lundeen, Ann Rabe, Benjamin Stern and Steven Szymanski. Joining the firm as associates are Austin Dieter, Sarah Erdmann and Derek Waterstreet.

WHD adds Occupational Safety and Health Team

The law firm of Whyte Hirschboeck Dudek has added an Occupational Safety and Health Team to its more than 50 industry and specialty areas. The team was formed to meet client needs regarding various occupational health and safety issues, including compliance with the federal Occupational Safety and Health Act.

Attorneys Erik Eisenmann and David Hertel co-lead the team, which consists of attorneys practicing in various areas of law, including labor and employment, litigation, environmental, employee benefits, construction services and worker’s compensation.

Reinhart Boerner Van Deuren has named four of the firm’s attorneys as shareholders.

Amy Barnes is a shareholder in the firm’s Tax Practice, where she advises clients on tax planning matters.

Lucas Roe is a shareholder in the Real Estate Practice and advises clients in all aspects of real estate law.

Joseph Shumow is a shareholder in the Real Estate Practice. He focuses on representing developers, credit allocators, lenders, and investors involved with low-income housing, new markets and historic tax credit transactions.

Benjamin Suesskind is a shareholder in the Employee Benefits Practice, where he advises clients on a variety of issues involving employee benefits.

Samantha Amore, a University of Wisconsin Law School graduate, recently joined the Milwaukee law firm O’Neil, Cannon, Hollman, DeJong & Laing.

She assists individuals, professionals, and business owners with estate and business planning, as well as with probate and guardianship.

Kohner, Mann & Kailas attorneys selected as Super Lawyers

Robert Gegios, Matthew Gerdisch, David Chartier and Ryan Billings of the Kohner, Mann and Kailas law firm have been selected for inclusion in the 2015 list of Super Lawyers.

Gegios has been selected as a Super Lawyer in the field of Business Litigation, and Billings has been selected as a Rising Star in this field.

Gerdisch and Chartier have been selected as Super Lawyers in the field of Creditor/Debtor Rights.

Gegios was also featured in the 2015 edition of Super Lawyers Magazine in an article discussing KMK’s success at the U.S. Supreme Court, representing Wisconsin businesses in groundbreaking antitrust litigation.
