SUPERIOR, Wis. (AP) — A 21-year-old man has been sentenced to 18 years in prison for his role in a man’s fatal shooting during an attempted robbery in Superior.

Kane Robinson was given the 18-year sentence and ordered to serve 10 years of extended supervision Tuesday in Douglas County Court. WDIO-TV reports that he was found guilty in June of being party to the crime of felony murder in the death of 20-year-old Garth Velin last September.

Robinson’s sentencing was postponed in September so his defense team could determine whether he qualified for a reduction to his recommended prison term.

Eighteen-year-old Chance Andrews was convicted of fatally shooting Velin. Three others also were charged as accomplices to felony murder.
