KENOSHA, Wis. (AP) — A Kenosha man has been convicted of killing his baby daughter and trying to kill the child’s mother.
A Kenosha County jury found Russell Rose Jr. guilty on all seven felony counts against him, including first-degree intentional homicide in the death of 11-month-old Serenity.
Prosecutors say Rose killed his daughter last November in a fit of rage by slamming her to the ground after a violent argument with the girl’s mother. Rose is accused of striking the mother, April Lampy, in the face, choking her, kicking her down some stairs and threatening her with a knife and metal stake.
Rose was also convicted of attempted first-degree intentional homicide, aggravated battery, strangulation and suffocation, false imprisonment and arson.
Sentencing is scheduled Dec. 3.
