Bancroft man pleads not guilty to killing wife

STEVENS POINT, Wis. (AP) — A man accused of killing his wife has pleaded not guilty to criminal charges in Portage County.

Fifty-eight-year-old Larry Sanchez, of Bancroft, appeared Monday in court where he entered the plea to four charges, including first-degree intentional homicide in the death of his wife. Forty-seven-year-old Lisa Sanchez was fatally shot in Bancroft last June. Her husband is also accused of barricading himself in their home and keeping police at bay for more than four hours.

Sanchez is being held on $1 million cash bond. Another court appearance is scheduled Dec. 21.
