MILWAUKEE (AP) — A 16-year-old boy who was shot and paralyzed in Milwaukee by one of his victim has been sentenced to 20 years for two attempted robberies last year.

The judge on Thursday sentenced Nathan King to serve the first 12-1/2 years in prison and the rest in the community under state supervision.

King pleaded guilty in April to two charges of armed robbery. He originally was charged in juvenile court but was waived to adult court after he went missing twice.

The prosecutor argued the two robberies were not isolated incidents. She said King’s fingerprints were found in five stolen cars.

In June 2014, King and another teen tried to rob a woman outside her Milwaukee home. The woman pulled out a handgun and after a struggle, shot King, paralyzing him.
