MILWAUKEE (AP) — A 51-year-old Milwaukee woman has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for killing her older sister during an argument in December.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports a jury convicted Marcia Render of second-degree reckless homicide in May for the Dec. 9 death of 52-year-old Sheri Head. Render was sentenced Tuesday.

According to police, Render called 911 at least eight times during the argument because Head was breaking her things. Police say Render admitted to pinning down her sister while waiting for officers. Head was unresponsive when police arrived.

Render said she didn’t intend to kill Head. The defense had asked that Render receive probation, and defense attorney Ann Bowe said police could have gotten to the scene more quickly.
