MILWAUKEE (AP) — A 21-year-old Milwaukee man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for his role in the road rage beating death of a driver.
Dionte Williams had pleaded guilty in March to second-degree reckless homicide as party to a crime in the November death of 36-year-old Alfonso Estrada-Cortes.
Police say Estrada-Cortes was found beaten to death in the early morning of Nov. 1. According to a criminal complaint, he was involved in a crash with a car carrying a group of Williams’ friends, and Williams and others chased and eventually caught up with Estrada-Cortes. Williams and others are accused of kicking and punching him.
Four other people have been charged in connection to Estrada-Cortes’ death. Three have pleaded guilty, while the fourth pleaded no contest. The other defendants haven’t been sentenced.
