WAUSAU, Wis. (AP) — Prosecutors have charged a 15-year-old as an adult in the stabbing death of a 13-year-old boy in central Wisconsin.
The Wausau boy was charged Monday with first-degree reckless homicide. WSAW-TV reports that bond was set at $1 million cash.
Although the teen was charged as an adult, The Associated Press is withholding his name because it wasn’t immediately apparent whether his attorneys would seek to move the case to juvenile court. A public defender has not yet been appointed.
Wausau police say Isaiah Powell was stabbed twice in the back during a fight involving a group of teenage boys that started with an argument on Facebook. Police say boys with a BB gun fired a couple of times at another group on a porch before the fight broke out.
