GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — A former Green Bay elementary school teacher has been sentenced to nine years in prison for sexually assaulting two students.
Fifty-eight-year-old Jer Lovaj earlier pleaded no contest to one felony and one misdemeanor count of sexually assaulting a child. Prosecutors say Lovaj inappropriately touched two female students in 2013 and 2014.
Brown County Judge Tammy Jo Jock sentenced Lovaj to more time than prosecutors recommended as part of a plea deal. Lovaj was teaching English at Anne Sullivan Elementary School in Green Bay. WLUK-TV reports he was also sentenced Monday to 15 years of probation.
