The Wisconsin Supreme Court on Wednesday suspended Verona attorney Andrew Bryant’s law license.

This is Bryant’s third disciplinary action in recent years, according to court records. He was privately reprimanded in January 2012 and his license was suspended for four months starting June 24 for 15 counts of misconduct.

Wednesday’s discipline stems from seven clients he worked with in 2001 and from 2008 to 2011. The Office of Lawyer filed a disciplinary complaint, which was amended several times.

The final amended complaint was filed Jan. 24, 2014, and had 255 paragraphs describing 38 counts of misconduct, including trust account violations, failing to provide competent representation and accepting fees without stating the purpose and effect of those fees.

Bryant did not immediately respond to an email request for comment. In a stipulation between the parties, he pleaded guilty to 37 of the 38 counts.

The justices agreed with the OLR’s recommendations that the court suspend Bryant’s license for three years. They also agreed that Bryant should pay $10,312.20 in restitution to a client referred to in court documents as M.W., and $5,000 in restitution to a client referred to in court documents as M.C.

The justices also ordered, in agreement with the OLR, that Bryant pay the full cost of the court proceedings within 60 days.

Bryant has been licensed in Wisconsin since 1992, the year he graduated from Hamline University Law School.
