MADISON – A federal jury on Wednesday found a Colorado man guilty of conspiring to distribute marijuana in northwest Wisconsin.
Humberto Fierro-Rascon, 41, of Florence, Colo., will be sentenced at 11 a.m. March 12. He faces a maximum of 20 years in federal prison, according to a news release from the office of John Vaudreuil, U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Wisconsin.
According to the release, investigators intercepted calls by Fierro-Rascon from the Federal Correctional Institution in Florence, Colo., arranging to smuggle the marijuana from Mexico. That, according to the release, led to officials finding and searching a van containing 159 pounds of marijuana intended for Christopher Johnson, 33, of Weyerhaeuser, Wis.
