WAUPACA, Wis. (AP) — A Waupaca man has pleaded not guilty to causing the death of his 2-year-old stepson.
Twenty-eight-year-old Joseph Jackson is charged with first-degree reckless homicide in the boy’s death. According to a criminal complaint, Jackson told investigators he held the boy face down on a bed to try to get the boy to stop crying and eventually the boy stopped breathing. WLUK-TV reports the child died at a hospital on May 25.
Cash bond for Jackson is set at $100,000. A conviction carries a maximum 60 years in prison.
