MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Newly released records show a state Justice Department agent that left her job over delays in assigning Internet child pornography cases was fired.

Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen announced in March that two investigators in DOJ’s Milwaukee office had left their jobs after DOJ officials discovered they had left nearly four dozen cases languish for months.

One of them was Special Agent-In-Charge Willie Brantley. He was fired but later reached a settlement calling for the agency to reclassify his termination as a retirement. The other investigator was Special Agent Anna King.

DOJ officials haven’t said whether King resigned or was terminated. Records the agency released to The Associated Press in response to an open records request include a letter to King telling her she was fired.
