MADISON, Wis. (AP) — State Rep. Bill Kramer has reached a plea deal with Waukesha County prosecutors on sexual assault charges.

The former Assembly majority leader has agreed to plead no contest to two misdemeanor counts of fourth-degree sexual assault. The Journal Sentinel reports the district attorney’s office will recommend a sentence of nine months in jail and three years of probation. He will not have to register as a sex offender.

The town of Waukesha Republican was scheduled to go on trial next week on two felony counts of second-degree sexual assault. According to a criminal complaint, Kramer groped a woman outside a GOP event at a Muskego tavern in 2011. Kramer was also accused of harassing two other women, a legislative aide and a lobbyist, at a fundraiser in Washington, D.C., last February.

Sentencing is scheduled Nov. 25.
