APPLETON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin prosecutors have agreed to drop a homicide charge against a woman accused in a 2007 slaying if she testifies against her two co-defendants.

Rosie Campbell, 40, of Minnesota, was originally charged as a party to the killing of Lara Plamann following her confession last year. She pleaded no contest to theft and party to criminal damage to property in exchange for testimony against Dianna and Kandi Siveny.

Campbell told police Dianna Siveny offered her $5,000 to kill Plamann, Siveny’s domestic partner, Post-Crescent Media reported. But Campbell backed out and instead saw Kandi Siveny, Dianna’s daughter, carry out the October 2007 shooting in a shed near Plamann’s Greenville home, according to court documents.

The theft and damage charges relate to a separate incident that occurred about two months before Plamann’s death. She vandalized a car and stole a stereo belonging to a woman who had previously dated Plamann. Campbell, who is a repeat offender, could be sentenced to more than 10 years in prison.

Outagamie County District Attorney Carrie Schneider said she will recommend a sentence of six to eight months in jail followed by three years of probation for Campbell.

“We felt this was an appropriate resolution that addresses (Campbell’s) actions,” Schneider said. “Resolving any one of these cases to give the family closure is important at this point.”

Campbell declined to testify against her co-defendants in late July, even when offered immunity from prosecution. If she refuses to testify at the upcoming trials against Dianna and Kandi Siveny, Schneider said she can ask the judge to revoke the sentence. But the plea agreement prevents prosecutors from being able to refile the homicide charge.

Sentencing for Campbell is scheduled for Jan. 15, and trials for the Sivenys are currently slated for February and June.
