GIVING BACK

On Sept. 26, Robert Habush of Habush Habush & Rottier SC, Milwaukee, presented Make-A-Wish Wisconsin with a $9,500 donation. The firm pledged to donate $100 for each extra-base hit by a Milwaukee Brewers player at Miller Park throughout the second half of the 2014 season. ON THE MOVE

Kerkman & Dunn, also known as Kerkman Dunn Sweet DeMarb, Madison, announced it will be splitting its two offices in Milwaukee and Madison into standalone law firms effective Oct. 20. The two-location firm was formed in 2012 when Kerkman & Dunn opened its Madison office under the supervision of a Madison-based partner, Rebecca DeMarb. The Milwaukee-based firm will retain the name Kerkman & Dunn. The Madison firm will operate under the name Sweet DeMarb LLC.

ON THE RISE

Dillon Ambrose was promoted to shareholder at Davis & Kuelthau SC, Milwaukee. He joined the firm in 2011 as a litigation associate. Prior to joining the firm, Dillon served eight years as a Navy JAG officer. Since joining Davis & Kuelthau, his practice has included the representation of clients at every level of litigation over contract matters, construction disputes, employment issues and property claims. He earned his law degree in 2002 from Marquette University Law School.

Amanda Pirt Meyer of Hupy and Abraham SC, Milwaukee, was appointed the 2014-15 co-chairwoman of the Tort, Trial and Insurance Practice Committee of the American Bar Association Young Lawyers Division. She previously served as 2013-14 vice chairwoman for the same committee. She earned her law degree in 2011 from Marquette University Law School.

Nels Kjome joined the Janesville office of Murphy Desmond SC, Madison, as a shareholder. He practices in the areas of family law/divorce, criminal defense and business law. Kjome has been in private practice for the past 10 years. He earned his law degree in 2004 from Marquette University Law School.
