Ballots for this year’s State Bar elections are set to be mailed by Friday.

Eligible voters will choose between Ralph Cagle and Kevin Palmersheim for bar president. They will also cast votes for the board’s secretary and appointee to the Wisconsin Judicial Council, as well as division presidents and district representatives.

Lisa Roys, the public affairs director for the bar, said in an email that about 20,000 attorneys are eligible to vote in elections. Judges are not ineligible, as are inactive members and inactive emeritus members. The bar has about 24,000 members in all.

Last year, 4,753 attorneys cast votes in the race between attorneys Bob Gagan and Chuck Hanson. Gagan won, and his term as president will begin July 1.
