MILWAUKEE (AP) — The Milwaukee Wave professional indoor soccer team and its owner are being sued by a lender.

Thomas Phillips, of Caledonia, claims he loaned owner Sue Black $200,000 shortly after he was named CEO of the team last year. Phillips’ lawsuit claims Black agreed to make quarterly interest payments on the loan, but made only a single payment of $100,000 last August.

WISN-TV reports court documents say Black requested a short-term loan of $10,000 to make payroll in December, but has not made arrangements for repaying that loan. Black tells WISN she can’t comment on the lawsuit and is focused on the playoffs. She did not immediately return a call to The Associated Press.
