Foley & Lardner LLP has announced several new partners, effective Feb. 1:
• John Gardner and Scott Paler were promoted to partner at Madison-based DeWitt Ross & Stevens SC.
Gardner practices in the firm’s labor and employment relations and litigation practice groups. He focuses on discrimination, retaliation, failure to accommodate a disability, breach of contract, violations of wage and hour laws, violations of the Family and Medical Leave Act, and violations of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act. He earned his law degree from Marquette University Law School.
Paler serves as chairman of the firm’s labor and employment practice group. He has experience advising companies on employment issues such as hiring processes, wage and hour practices, noncompete agreements, disciplinary investigations, and terminations. He earned his law degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School.

Michelle Affatati joined Stafford Rosenbaum LLP, Madison, as an associate. Affatati’s practice focuses on business law, estate planning and litigation support. She earned her law degree in 1997 from the University of Wisconsin Law School.
• Lee Anne Conta, Brittany Finlayson, Patrick Greeley, Jaime Levine and R. Lynn Parins joined von Briesen & Roper SC, Milwaukee.
Conta is a shareholder in the litigation and risk management practice group. She focuses on litigation and insurance coverage disputes with a special emphasis in intellectual property, commercial, and construction coverage matters. She earned her law degree in 1994 from Marquette University Law School.
Finlayson is an associate in the firm’s business practice group. She focuses on intellectual property, as well as general business and corporate matters. She earned her law degree in 2013 from the University of Michigan.
Greeley is an associate in the firm’s banking, bankruptcy, business restructuring and real estate practice group. He focuses on banking, bankruptcy, insolvency matters and workouts. He earned his law degree in 2013 from Marquette University Law School.
Levine is an associate in the firm’s business and corporate law practice group. She focuses her practice in the areas of estate planning and estate and trust administration. She earned her law degree in 2003 from the University of Miami.
Parins is an associate in the firm’s banking, bankruptcy, business restructuring and real estate practice group. He focuses on secured transactions, loan documentation, insolvency matters and loan workouts. He earned his law degree in 2013 from the University of Minnesota.
• David Gorwitz joined Neider & Boucher SC as a shareholder. His practice focuses on business transactions and estate planning. Gorwitz earned his law degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School.
• Colleen Uhlenkamp joined Davis & Kuelthau SC’s labor and employment practice in its Madison office. She provides counsel on all aspects of labor and employment relations under state and federal law, including contract negotiations, labor arbitration, employment policies and handbooks. Uhlenkamp earned her law degree in 2011 from Thomas M. Cooley Law School.
